About Paul

I’m Paul Nasari, a former professional boxer and lifelong advocate for the sport of boxing here in Sydney’s south-west.

I was born in 1968 and raised in Panania. I turned professional in 1990 as a lightweight and went on to have 21 professional fights, recording 11 wins, 7 losses and 3 draws. I fought across Sydney, regional Australia and even overseas. Every bout taught me something — about discipline, resilience, preparation and what it truly means to step into the ring when it’s just you and your opponent.

But my proudest work began after I hung up the gloves.

Over 25 years ago, I started my own Boxercise program — long before boxing fitness became mainstream. I wanted to bring real boxing training to everyday people in a way that was structured, safe and empowering. My sessions blend authentic boxing fundamentals with fitness, conditioning and discipline.

At the Bankstown City YMCA in Revesby, I’ve had the privilege of coaching both adults and kids. When I teach children, my focus isn’t on aggression — it’s on technique, coordination, confidence and respect. I teach proper footwork, balance and punching precision, but just as importantly, I teach self-control and belief in yourself. Boxing builds strong bodies, but it also builds strong minds.

I’ve also stayed involved in the sport behind the scenes. Through Neutral Corner Fight Promotions, I’ve organised local fight nights to give upcoming fighters a platform to grow. Supporting grassroots boxing in Sydney is something I’m deeply passionate about. I’ve even hosted a community radio program dedicated to discussing boxing and highlighting local talent.

Boxing has shaped my life — from stepping into the ring as a professional fighter to mentoring the next generation. Today, my mission is simple: to pass on real skills, real discipline and real confidence to the community that supported me from the beginning.
